A small rescue project for the cabinet of a vintage radio: Voce del Padrone Mod. 509. The exterior finish is completely new.
Inside, it’s now a Volumio-based streamer with support for Roon endpoint, internet radio, AirPlay, and Spotify. Network connection is available via both Wi-Fi and LAN, with USB playback also supported.
A 10″ capacitive touchscreen is fitted. All controls are electronic with push functions: volume (mute), brightness (display off), and track navigation (pause).
Built on a Raspberry Pi platform. Final voicing is tuned to evoke the original tube-era character. Volumio can be controlled via the mobile app. Full Volumio functionality may require a subscription.
