SONY Elcaset EL5

Sony EL-5 Elcaset — rare format deck, serviced and bench-tested, ready for regular use.
Electronics checked end-to-end, transport serviced, functions verified, and final performance confirmed on the bench.

Story & Notes
A genuinely rare Elcaset deck from Sony’s short-lived high-fidelity cassette format: 1/4" tape at 9.5 cm/s (3¾ ips)—built to deliver open-reel style stability and bandwidth in a cassette system. Elcaset hardware and tapes are niche today; correctly running decks are increasingly uncommon.

This EL-5 is prepared to the same workshop standard and service philosophy: predictable mechanics, stable operation, and honest, repeatable performance.
